Climbing Orchid stamp set from Stampin' Up!

With the excitement of sale-a-bration it's easy to forget products in our annual catalogue.
'Climbing Orchid' is such an elegant stamp set, it doesn't need a lot of anything else to make a pretty card. 

I've made 2 versions, each one using a different pattern of the larger flower head stamps and then a smaller leaf stamp.

Colour combinations are a lovely soft look with 'Soft Sea Foam' and one of my old favourites 'Mint Macaron'
A brighter burst of colour comes from 'Poppy Parade' and 'Granny Apple Green'


Stamping randomly with the flower head and leaf i created a pretty background.
Carefully laying the 'Large Letter' framelits across the top i ran it through the 'Big Shot' until i had the word MUM. The magnetic plate is great for things like this, helping keep the framelits just where you want them. The cut out letters are popped back in but on dimensionals so they stand out.

''Teeny Tiny Sentiments' provided the Happy Mothers day and i used the classic label punch to cut out and then the same in matching cardstock. The cardstock label i set off at an angle on one and slightly above the sentiment on the other just to give that flash of colour. 

I really like how these cards turned out, swapping the sentiment would make them great for a lot of other occasions.

Card front builder thinlits - Stampin Up

When i first saw the 'Card Front Builder' thinlits die i must admit it didn't grab me straight away. I think i thought it looked like too much faff so i decided not to order it. Then i made that deadly mistake that most of us crafters do...i went on Pinterest!! Needless to say after spending half an hour (okay maybe 2 hours) browsing the cards made by some of my fellow demonstrators i was convinced i needed it too.  The design i have used was inspired by another Pinterest user 'Stamping Up North', I really liked the way they used the cut out trees to layer back onto the card so decided to make my own version. The background paper is from the 'Be Merry' designer series paper. Blog Hop with the Simply Stylish Stampers!

Thank you for hopping over to my blog.  This is my first time joining in with a 'Blog Hop' and i'm delighted to be doing it with the other ladies from the 'Simply Stylish Stampers'. After being given a card making kit as a gift a few years back i found i really enjoyed creating projects. Later on i discovered Stampin Up and my love for papercraft has grown into what you might say is an obsession! My card today uses the fabulous NEW stamp set 'Wise Men From Afar' which is coming soon in the Autumn / Winter brochure. 'Star Of Light' and the coordinating thinlits dies also feature.  Taking a sheet of 'Night of Navy' cardstock i trimmed it down to 11 1/2 x 5 3/4. Then scored in half along the long side.
