Blog Hop with the Simply Stylish Stampers!

Thank you for hopping over to my blog.  This is my first time joining in with a 'Blog Hop' and i'm delighted to be doing it with the other ladies from the 'Simply Stylish Stampers'. After being given a card making kit as a gift a few years back i found i really enjoyed creating projects. Later on i discovered Stampin Up and my love for papercraft has grown into what you might say is an obsession! My card today uses the fabulous NEW stamp set 'Wise Men From Afar' which is coming soon in the Autumn / Winter brochure. 'Star Of Light' and the coordinating thinlits dies also feature.  Taking a sheet of 'Night of Navy' cardstock i trimmed it down to 11 1/2 x 5 3/4. Then scored in half along the long side. Cracking on with Christmas cards - 'Wondrous Wreath' Stampin Up

Last Sunday i showed you a card i made using an old favourite stamp set of mine. Today's project is a similar design but this time using 'Wondrous Wreath'. To make the wreath i used 'Garden Green' ink for the largest wreath part followed by 'Old Olive' for the part with only a few leaves and lastly 'Cherry Cobbler' for the red berry part. It looks complicated when you see 2 and 3 part stamps but it really isn't and the little tab at the top of each of these stamps helps line them up. Plus the fact they are photopolymer so you can see where you are placing them. The 'Whisper White' card is stamped on directly for the ribbon top holding the wreath and the sentiment. Layer onto the cardstock like the cards last Sunday and then the wreath added using dimensionals to give it some lift.  Lastly the little die cut ribbon is added to finish the project. JOY - with Stampin Up

Are we all feeling excited that tomorrow is the 1st of December? I absolutely love Christmas time, so i really enjoy the whole of December.  This card i made uses the word 'JOY' which sums up how i feel about the festive period. I have made this card using the same dsp but switched the colours around, so one is more 'Cherry Cobbler' and the other more 'Garden Green'.  They are simple to make. Taking a piece of cardstock 9 x 3 inches score on the long side at 3 and 6 inches. This gives you the folds so that it will fit into a 3x3 inch envelope.  The 3 pieces of dsp from the 'Be Merry' papers measure 2 7/8 inch square. This gives you a hint of border around all four sides.  I chose a pattern with mittens on so decided to use the 'Many Mittens' framelits to cut out the 2 mittens and the little tree from the matching stamp set 'Smitten Mittens'  'JOY' i wanted to stand out against the papers so of cou...
