All is Bright - red, green and gold

Nothing says Christmas colours more than the traditional red, green and gold.
The lovely dsp 'All Is Bright' has some beautiful papers in it but i really love this particular one which looks just like a photograph.

I didn't want to take away from the paper itself too much so kept it simple using a piece of dsp to cover my base card.



The sentiment from the 'Making Christmas Bright' stamp set is stamped in both 'Call Me Clover' and Real red' with the circle and stars around it in 'Crushed Curry'

'Layering Circle framelits' cut out the sentiment and then a larger scalloped circle in 'Gold glimmer paper' to make a mount.

Lastly the 'Sprig Punch' adds some texture to the card popping in the sprigs behind the sentiment.

Card front builder thinlits - Stampin Up

When i first saw the 'Card Front Builder' thinlits die i must admit it didn't grab me straight away. I think i thought it looked like too much faff so i decided not to order it. Then i made that deadly mistake that most of us crafters do...i went on Pinterest!! Needless to say after spending half an hour (okay maybe 2 hours) browsing the cards made by some of my fellow demonstrators i was convinced i needed it too.  The design i have used was inspired by another Pinterest user 'Stamping Up North', I really liked the way they used the cut out trees to layer back onto the card so decided to make my own version. The background paper is from the 'Be Merry' designer series paper. Blog Hop with the Simply Stylish Stampers!

Thank you for hopping over to my blog.  This is my first time joining in with a 'Blog Hop' and i'm delighted to be doing it with the other ladies from the 'Simply Stylish Stampers'. After being given a card making kit as a gift a few years back i found i really enjoyed creating projects. Later on i discovered Stampin Up and my love for papercraft has grown into what you might say is an obsession! My card today uses the fabulous NEW stamp set 'Wise Men From Afar' which is coming soon in the Autumn / Winter brochure. 'Star Of Light' and the coordinating thinlits dies also feature.  Taking a sheet of 'Night of Navy' cardstock i trimmed it down to 11 1/2 x 5 3/4. Then scored in half along the long side.
