Loyal & True with Stampin Up

I think this card is perfect to give as a thank you to all the service people who risk their lives daily doing their jobs.

I've taken a piece of designer series paper from the 'True Gentleman' papers to use as my background.
Picking out colours from the DSP i chose 'Crumb Cake' cardstock and ink. 

I randomly stamped the small star from the 'Loyal & True' stamp set over the 'Crumb Cake' card. Then i took the soldier and stamped it over the top using 'Night of Navy' ink. 

The sentiment from the same stamp set i inked in 'Night of Navy'and stamped onto a piece of 'Crushed Curry'. This was them punched out using the 'Tailored tag' punch along with another tag in 'Night of Navy' cardstock which i cut in half then layered behind the 'crushed Curry' piece. This gives a slight border effect. 

The sentiment is popped up on dimensionals to help it stand out form the background.

Card front builder thinlits - Stampin Up

When i first saw the 'Card Front Builder' thinlits die i must admit it didn't grab me straight away. I think i thought it looked like too much faff so i decided not to order it. Then i made that deadly mistake that most of us crafters do...i went on Pinterest!! Needless to say after spending half an hour (okay maybe 2 hours) browsing the cards made by some of my fellow demonstrators i was convinced i needed it too.  The design i have used was inspired by another Pinterest user 'Stamping Up North', I really liked the way they used the cut out trees to layer back onto the card so decided to make my own version. The background paper is from the 'Be Merry' designer series paper. Blog Hop with the Simply Stylish Stampers!

Thank you for hopping over to my blog.  This is my first time joining in with a 'Blog Hop' and i'm delighted to be doing it with the other ladies from the 'Simply Stylish Stampers'. After being given a card making kit as a gift a few years back i found i really enjoyed creating projects. Later on i discovered Stampin Up and my love for papercraft has grown into what you might say is an obsession! My card today uses the fabulous NEW stamp set 'Wise Men From Afar' which is coming soon in the Autumn / Winter brochure. 'Star Of Light' and the coordinating thinlits dies also feature.  Taking a sheet of 'Night of Navy' cardstock i trimmed it down to 11 1/2 x 5 3/4. Then scored in half along the long side.
